Today we drove through many state lines and at times right along them. Very cool to see on the GPS unit.
Madison not long after leaving DC got a little car sick. We only had time to give her a double layered grocery bag before she really got car sick. Luckily everything was contained and easily cleaned up. The rest of the day was spent in the car reading, listening to Percy Jackson, eating sunflower seeds, stopping at rest stops or pumping gas.
Jason planned for us to stay in Kentucky for the night. We made good time getting to Louisville. The first thing we did once we arrived in Louisville Kentucky was check into our hotel.
The hotel we stayed at had some A/C problems in the lobby. It felt like a sauna! Luckily our room had a half way decent A/C that kept our room at a decent temperature compared to the rest of the hotel. The kids just wanted to stay and not leave the room.
However we needed dinner so we decided to find a local KFC (comfort food) with the nearest Walgreens around. After eating dinner Jason and I spent a few hours in the hotel laundry room doing some laundry. It was miserable. Our clothes stuck to our body from the heat and the laundry room was tiny (a washer, dryer, two small wall vending machines and enough floor space to open and close a door). After meeting a few of the other guests we waited a while to take the kids to the pool and only let them stay for about half an hour. The biker reunion by the pool was a little much for us. We just wanted to sleep and move along our trip. We woke up, ate breakfast and got back in the car. Nothing super special about Louisville except how people pronounce it. I still can't say it right but Jason's got the accent down.
Location: DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky,?,?,?

Crap. How are we going to take our family picture by state signs that are on the side of the interstate with no shoulder or high above the road? I obviously hadn't thought this all through when we started our little tradition.
