Sick...Sick...Sick...

We've been hit with different virus the last week or so.  Jason has been pretty sick but seems to be getting over it now, Korbin was sick last weekend but since has been ok for the last few days(well enough to be able to play with friends), Madison is still struggling with a cough but was doing much better yesterday(finally a friend for Maddie to play with). But then this morning we took her in to see a doctor because of a ear ache bad enough for tears to spill over. Doctors results, an ear infection in both ears that are pretty bad. Moms get sick as well but it doesn't really count because with a houseful of sick family members there is no time for a mom to get sick.

Multnomah Falls

The movie twilight is the closest thing for me to be able to see one of my favorite places in the world. I can see my waterfall in a few scenes in the movie(yeah, I bought it, a friend of mine hasn't watched it yet so we talked about having a movie day at her house with a few other fans). Back to the waterfall....I'm jealous of my friend Crystal because she might be there within a few months and I on the other hand have no idea when I'll be able to go and visit it again (I've though about hiding in her trunk). Maybe the future will hold Crystal's family and my family living near the Portland area in a few years then I can have a friend near by. However for now I'll settle for living here and having fun friends that enjoy my enthusiasm of a waterfall and a movie.

Spring Cleaning

We did a little spring cleaning this weekend.  We spent all day Saturday inside the furnace room and the laundry room. I've complained about getting a freezer for a long time now. The only problem was we didn't have anywhere to put it but not anymore. Two trips to the DI and two full garbage cans this week and next week and we're done. All I want to buy is half a cow and Jason only wants to stock up on pies (Banana Cream).  I'm actually really exited about it. Obviously we have no idea how to buy a half of a cow so I went to someone who does Tammy's( my former VT) husband(our former HT) about how to buy one. I'll have to go and look at their freezer sometime this week. If it's too much meat for our freezer maybe I can buy only a forth of a cow instead. The kids didn't stick around here on Sat.  They spent the day at Jason and Breann's house from morning until dinner time. It was nice not to have to worry about them being bored.

Training/Spring Fever

The kids have had spring fever due to the deceiving nice weather(it's snowing today it's light and fluffy so I'm not completely put out yet).  Riding bikes is the only thing the kids have wanted to do lately. On Saturday we took the kiddos on a small bike ride. It wasn't warm enough yet to do it but due to the recent events around here Jason needs as many bikes rides as he can make. Jason and Bishop Foulger(our former bishop) want to have their scouts earn a Cycling Merit Badge . The big requirement is a 50 MILE bike ride. When I first hear about it my only though was can Bishop Foulger even finish it without having a mild heart attack. I teased him about it yesterday right before sacrament meeting. His reply convinced me I'm not the only one who is concern for his health but then again the whole thing was his idea. Jason and I took a longer bike ride yesterday without the kids. 7.6 miles according to the Google map above. The hills killed me.  I didn't sleep well last night thanks to the soreness.  I'm glad for the snow it will give me a few days rest from our next bike ride. Jason did well. His legs felt like Jello when we got home but other than that he's fine. The next step is finding a bike trail long enough and flat enough to have the scouts use. 50 miles will be hard for them but I think if it's on a flat surface they can do it. Any suggestions of bike paths that are flat?

I lied about the snow. I'm not OK with it now.  Jason just had to get pulled out of a snow embankment trying to get home from Logan. He'll wait and see if it gets better and try again. I hope he makes it home tonight he's in charge of the treat tonight!

Performance

Korbin's school PTA had an artist in residence come and teach the 2nd thru 4th graders a few songs and dances from around the world.  Last night he picked out a t-shirt and some shorts from his summer clothes to wear as his costume. He was really exited. He picked the tie- dye shirt(one of his favorites not one of mine) he made in his 1st grade classroom.  He also took his sunglasses.  It was a great performance. It was fun to see all the different costume and dances the kids wore and did.My favorite part was knowing the kids were able to see what people do in other parts of the world.

One small clips of each song and dance. I haven't figured out how to compress videos yet and it was taking a long time.
***The first three pictures were taken by my awesome friend Emily with her amazing huge fancy camera. I always liked the pictures on her blog now I know why.  I need to take lessons from her she's an awesome friend.

Gesture

Jason bought me flowers last night. It's been a good year since he has surprised me with flowers. I can't decide if I prefer flowers for big occasions like valentine's and/or anniversaries or just on any random day. I'm leaning towards the random days! Last Friday we had movie date night. Can't beat a great movie, nachos and drinks for under $20 just down the street(no more driving to Brigham/Perry anymore) and two Friday's ago Jason and I went out for lunch and did a little window shopping down on Historic twenty fifth street in Ogden. We had lunch at The Athenian (no belly dancers that's on Thursday nights) and went in all the fun shop including the ones with a lot of breakable items. I think I could get use to this!
