Gotcha/Failed

Note:
Read post Game on before reading this post for it to make sense. Unless if you are in our ward then you just know we have taken this a little seriously.

Korbin got his first and second target in our ward water fight yesterday afternoon. We'll admit his 1st target wasn't easy to track down but finally after requesting help from friends we got Lexi. The second target was way easier than the first and he was able to get Taylor right away. Korbin had his friend Ben go with him and off they went on their bikes down the street. His third target he's very confident about getting fast. He's got it all planned out without any parental advice.

Tonight we had dinner at G-ma and G-pa E's. The whole gang was there to celebrate Colton's 4th b-day. We had a great time and got home a little after nine. Well, not long after returning home Jason got attacked. We didn't see it coming! The good thing is he was prepared so he's still in the game the rotten part is he used a loophole the boys obviously didn't know about. They thought they got lucky driving past catching us off guard. I'm still sticking to my choice of not wanting to know who has me as a target(even though I know where I can trade some info to find out). I think it will take the allure out of the game. My new goal is to make it into the top 20  the 26th spot then I'm done. I don't want to handle that kind of pressure.

Midnight

A couple of friends and I went to see Eclipse last night for the midnight showing. Yes! Midnight. Every gal needs fabulous friends to do silly things like this with and I'm lucky to have some. It was great! The lateness of the hour made me feel 16 again the only difference is now I wake up to bad baggy dark circles under my eyes and I'll need a full 24 hours of sleep to recover from the experience. The movie was great and I enjoyed it so much more than the previous one.

Game ON!

On Tuesday night our ward had a picnic at a local park. This was the first event Jason had to miss due to school work and probably not the last for the next 5 weeks. It's been a while since we have had to do this and it's taking me a little time to adjust. I just need to remind myself this is what needs to get done. I'm happy I was brave enough to just go with the kiddos. Korbin was very outgoing and joined a game of Volleyball and tossed a football around with some of the youth. So not like him to do this. It was awesome to see him open up and I'm really glad we made it over. We've been looking forward to this picnic because we were getting our targets for our wards summer long water fight.
Game & Rules:

  • each person gets a target
  •  you must get him/her wet with no more than a quart of water
  • can't get them in church attire
  • no Sunday's
  • When a player eliminates his/her target, he/she takes over his/her victim's target.
  • by the end of the summer there should only be 1 person standing
I've got to say I actually didn't think I would care about this as much as I am. I like wearing a skirt everyday now and Jason likes wearing a tie to work. Our first goal was to make it at least a day and our second goal was to get at least one target. We've all meet the first goal but only I have meet the second.
Last night we took the kids to buy squirt guns at Walmart and while heading to check out we ran into my target. She noticed what we were buying and we sat and chatted a bit. Talk about ACKWARD! After paying I had to come up with a totally new plan. Finally I choose to just go for it in the store. I snuck up behind Halle and got her. All I heard was 'DANG IT'. I love Halle so I bought her a candy bar to smooth things over. It's hard getting the kids in Primary. Now I have Halle's target.
Korbin's target is a little tricky but we have a plan (he just needs to last a little bit longer). Jason has ideas but no plan yet, he's got a harder target.
It's fun to hear the stories and the strategies people are using. Some are holding out and letting others do the work and others are literally stalking their targets. It's all in great fun and this ward can totally pull this off! We have a few tricks up our sleeves....GAME ON!

Perfect timing

Korbin walked out the front door at exactly the perfect time this morning( I was just about to mow)!
After a little whining and me putting my foot down this is the end result...

It took a little time but he mowed the front lawn. He's helped Jason a few times by pushing the lawnmower with him but today he did it by himself. He might not admit it but I think he had a lot of fun doing it. I had a great time watching him make funny noises while using the self propel. The boy is just skinny! He used a lot of his energy turning it;)

(calling dad to tell him the news).
I'm glad he didn't take out any of Jason's newly planted plants.

Busy

School is out! The kids had a lot of activities the last week of school. It's been a great school year. The kids aren't quite ready to leave their teachers and friends. I take this as a good sign they have really enjoy this school year and so have I! Fabulous teachers!!!
We kicked off our summer first summer weekend at a graduation party for one of my cousins. We played kickball(it's literally been years since Jason or I have played) and played in a bounce house. We also attended a b-day party for Jake plus of course a little yard work. I hope all this fun is a sign of an upcoming fun and spontanious summer with simple everyday things, extra special things, swimming, camping(yes it's really about time we use that trailer:) and a few short trips.
