Korbin's 10

Yes! It was time for another friend party. Korbin invited a few friends over to play night games at a local park we think is perfect for some outdoor fun.
Our original plan was to meet at our home because the weather hasn't been the greatest and a bit colder than usual for this time of year. We thought we would have to start here for cake and presents in a warm house and then we would go to the park just for an hour to play the games. We got lucky and the weather was about 64 degrees at 8:30 so we went ahead and just did everything at the park.
All the boy we invited came except one. We pilled them in three large cars and went straight to the park (grateful for friends who own large vehicles).

Once we got there it was dusk so we opened presents and ate cupcakes with Capri Suns as quickly as possible. Korbin now has enough Neft guns for a small army and Lego kits galore. Just what he wanted for his birthday. Plus candy and a self inflating whoopie cushion that is already a hit with more than just the Eckardt birthday boy.

At 9PM the boys (and two girls Emma and Maddie) started to play the games. Since it was Korbin's birthday he picked most of the games. The boys played 'it','ghost in the graveyard',and then a different version of 'it'. Some of the boys had never played night games and a few others had never even heard of night games. Most of the time they just wanted to run around and do their own thing and tell each other how to do play. It was quite entertaining.
10 PM came quickly and it was time to go home. All the boys got picked up and took a  goodie bag home filled with candy and other stuff I scored at a local Army recruiting place( I thought I hit the jackpot with this idea). I thought the boys might like a bag filled without the small 25 cent toys but a little more grown up stuff. Afterwards Jason L came up to me and said he was hoping for a puzzle. Yes(the 25 cent toy), I had to laugh.

By the time we got home it was time to relax and watch a movie (Narnia) with Emma and Ethan who spent the night.

In other news we finally got our camera. It's the Nikon Coolpix P500. It came just in time for the party and the night setting has meet our expectations. The zoom is nice too.

What a great party! Ben had SO MUCH FUN! When he showed me the army stuff, I thought, "Claudy is a genius!" That is such a good idea and fit so perfectly with the whole night games theme. Good work!
