Maddie's Day

It's been 7 years since this picture of little Maddie was taken. It feels like only yesterday. 7 years later...
she still barely makes it on the bottom of her growth charts.
Madison woke up on her 7th birthday a little under the weather. She woke up a few times the night before to throw up(she wouldn't go anywhere without a garbage can near her). Not a great way to start off a birthday.
It took a little work to get her to warm up to the day but once she got started and saw presents she cheered up a little.Leave it to mom to request clothes. She loved this card from Aunt Mel. It played the Tinkerbell theme song.
She can pretty much guess what's in her last gift.
We didn't have a friend party this year just a family dinner. Maddie's request this year was to hang out with some of her cousins. Jake and Kenzie. So that's what we did. She had a lot of fun on her 7th b day and got plenty of summer clothes, dresses, high heel sandals(as Maddie described them) and toys(Wekinz, scrapbooking and crafts stuff).
By the end of the day she was feeling like herself again:)

February 2003

In February 2003 Madison was born. She was 7 pounds ounces. She was a tiny thing compared to how much Korbin weighed. We were exited to welcome Maddie into our family. During my first ultra sound they told us that we would be having a boy(I was a little sad, but tried not to shown it to Jason. Later we found out it was a girl (during the 1st official ultra sound). Jason let me know he knew I really wanted a girl and could see it in my face. So much for bluffing. We picked the name Madison because I liked it and it went very well with her middle name which was very important to me. Madison's middle name is actually what my mom wanted to name me and since I didn't get it our little girl had to.
Korbin has always been a laid back kid. In most of the pictures of him at the hospital he's either eating or watching TV. He was way into Toy Story at the time. During my first trimester I would be so tired I would take a daily nap. I would lock the doors, put Toy Story in and be out by 2:50 I couldn't make it past this time. Jason would come in a little after 3 from work and finish watching it with him. I remember he broke it a few months after Madison was born trying to get it out of the case and had big crocodile tears. I still to this day haven't replaced it, I better get on top of that. I also remember I cried a lot when I was pregnant with Madison. It got really bad once and scared Jason. Out of the blue I sat on the bottom step of our staircase and I cried bad for absolutely no reason. Jason was trying to console me but nothing would work. He thought I was hurt but it was just the hormones. I should have known then I was having a dramatic little girl:)
Proud mom of a beautiful little girl.
Proud dad of a cute little girl.

Maddie was so little I remember having to use blankets to help her sit up straight.
Two peas in a pod from the beginning. We're so grateful to have both of these kids in our lives and for how well they get along about 90% of the time.

I love that she already looks so much like Maddie in that first picture. I could have totally picked her out of a baby picture lineup.
