We had a full week of busy days hanging out with Jason's family. Jason was on a vacation week so we didn't miss much of the action.
Sunday...dinner at Jason's grandparents filled with visiting, catching up and planning. It was a late night for all of us.
Monday...threw us a curb ball. My grandmas health has taken a turn for the worst lately, so for me the day involved being at the hospital for 6 hours and for Jason it involved taking the kids grocery shopping and to the duck pond.
Tuesday...things settled a bit and we hung out with Russ, Synda and the kids. We took the kids to golf and lunch. Afterwards Jason and I ran to the hospital for a bit before heading to dinner at Grandma E's. Madison spent the night with Emery. Emery and Madison are inseparable when we get together. They are a lot alike in so many ways and very different at the same time.
Wednesday... nobody was ready in time to get to the breakfast in Huntsville like we had planned so instead we decided to go to Kaysville's 4th of July festivities. Breakfast was served until 10:30 and the parade started at 11:00. A better time frame for the Eckardt clan! This was our first year going to a 4th of July breakfast. We're glad we included going to breakfast, it was delicious. After over stuffing ourselves we got ready for the parade. The marching band was huge and the parade lasted about an hour. The kids received a large amount of candy, t-shirts, lots of balls, necklaces galore and otter pops too. It was a great parade full of candy throwing. After the parade we made it back to Grandma E's to rest and have the kids spend some time together. After a few days of so much stuff going on we didn't make it to a fireworks show. Instead we stayed home and watched fireworks from the upstairs large window, it was cool to be able to see more than one firework show at once.
Thursday...was Lagoon day. The weather was NOT ideal for the first two hours. It rained and rained on us. Finally it cleared up and stayed dried for the remainder of the day. We ended up staying there until after 10. After Lagoon we went to In-N-Out for dinner. You would think that after such a busy day the kids would be tired but no, they had a blast during dinner too.
Friday...we went to City Creek and to a ball game. We rode the front runner to Salt Lake with Russ, Lisa, the kids and Emery. Synda, Kennedy and Grandma E drove down. We did a little bit of window shopping and ate lunch. We made it just in time to head over to the game. Ry, Dena and the kids plus a friend met us there. The game itself was crappy but the food and the time the kids spent together was fun. Kenz is turning into such a beautiful young lady.
Saturday...was pool day with cousins. Rained followed us there. Grrr. The kids only spent a little bit of time in the water before lightning was spotted. We packed the kids up and went to Grandma E's to hang out and have one last meal together. A busy week with cousins and uncles!
