Korbin a year ago...
Korbin a year ago.

Korbin got his braces taken off on Tuesday! He has been happy ever since. He can't stop smiling. He's growing up super fast. In a few weeks he'll be registering for JR. HIGH!

Thanksgiving in Arizona

For Thanksgiving we went to Arizona to visit The Wayment's. The Wayment's were very hospitable. They had 12 guests staying in their beautiful home. Jason's dad with his family, Grandma and Grandpa E along with Jimmy and our family.

We stayed in St. George Wednesday night and arrived in Mesa just in time for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Synda prepared a fantastic sweetheart turkey for us along with many other tasty dishes.

Madison and Emery bonded immediately and wore matching clothes for most of our stay. If we lived closer to each other these two girls would spend a lot of time together. All the cousins had a great time playing and hanging out with each other.

The weather stayed in the 80's during our trip. The kids swam and swam in the pool. They had a blast diving and jumping off the rocks! Jason and I had a friendly putting game on Brad and Cooper's putting green. Even with Cooper's hints and tips I lost and owed Jason a 5 minute back rub. Grrr!

On Friday, Brad was able to get tickets to a Suns game. All the boys went and had a great time together. They had great seats and the Suns won! The girls (along with Kyler) went shopping and out to dinner. California Pizza Kitchen is always good!

My favorite memory of our trip was going on afternoon walks as a family and picking oranges! The oranges and grapefruits weren't quite ready but we searched and searched until we found enough ripe oranges to fill a couple of bags  for the journey home.

After leaving Synda's on Saturday we drove to the Grand Canyon. The kids and Jason were impressed from the beginning, I on the other hand had to warm up to it. I quickly had a change of heart within 20 minutes of our arrival. Sunset at the Grand Canyon amazed me. It was beautiful! I'm so glad we were able to be there for it. Afterwards we drove to  Flaming George  Lake Powell and stayed the night. The following morning we drove the rest of the way home with a quick detour thru Zion. On Sunday we arrived home and missed the 'Arizona' sun . We'll have to visit Synda again soon!

A Night Out

Carie, Tosh,Mackel,Myself,Callie and Jen
A few of my friends and I went to the premiere of Breaking Dawn a few nights ago. It was a 'FUN' much needed girls night out. I'm not around during the day much so any chance I have a little bit of spare time I like to see my girlfriends and do something fun! We went out for Sushi before the movie and dessert after the movie. A fun night with old friends and new friends! And of course it wouldn't be a party without a picture taken.

Halloween 2012

We had a very low effort Halloween this year. Korbin wanted to be a Ninja again and Maddie was Cleopatra. Easy! It was a nice night to go trick-or-treating, in the 70's. Things worked out and Korbin hung out with a few friends and went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. I have a feeling this was his last year. It makes me sad in a way but I have a plan on how to keep him around and entertained next year!

Madison and I hung out with my friends Wendy and Malinda and all the girls. We covered a lot of neighborhoods. Jason had class (bummer) and then after class went home to pass out candy. Together the kids had A LOT of good candy!

Music and The Spoken Word

During the first week of September we took the kids to Music and The Spoken Word at Temple Square and then to brunch afterwards. Jason and I liked it a lot. The kids told us they liked it but the expressions on their faces told us they were glad it was over. We knew a little bit of the music. The sound was amazing! We'll have to make another trip soon but maybe without the kids for a little bit.
